Priority Area Coordinators (PACs) of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR) met in Sofia for a two-day working session held on 24–25 February. The meeting was organised under the Bulgarian Presidency of the EUSDR.

The Public Agency for the Promotion of Entrepreneurship and Development Projects of the Municipality of Izola (Public Agency JZP Izola), acting as the Implementing Structure of the Municipality of Izola and a project partner in the EUSAIR Facility Point, took part in the International Large Carnivores Habitat Management Conference organised within the framework of the 4PETHABECO project. The conference took place in Tirana, Albania, from 25 to 27 February 2026.

The 11th Mediterranean Coast and Macro-Regional Strategies Week will take place from 15 to 17 September 2026 in Izola, Slovenia.

On 25 March 2026, the city of Trieste will host the joint event “Digitalising the Road Last Mile for Ports and Multimodal Freight Terminals – Data Sharing and Interoperability for Efficient Freight Flows.” The initiative is organised by the Port Network Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea in collaboration with the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Interporto di Trieste, under the patronage of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR).

Ports at the Heart of the Adriatic–Ionian Region: Cooperation and Competitiveness for a Sustainable Transition

The European project GPP2ADRION is designed to enhance expertise, awareness, and institutional capacity in the field of Green Public Procurement (GPP) across the ADRION macro-regional area. Its primary goal is to improve the practical and effective application of sustainable public procurement by supporting public authorities and key stakeholders.

The Bulgarian Presidency organised an online edition of the “Chat with the Presidency” initiative, creating an open space for discussion and exchange with stakeholders of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR).

On 1 January 2026, Bulgaria assumed the Presidency of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR) for the second time. During this year, the participating countries will be brought together under the slogan “Bridging Regions, Building Cohesion: A Stronger Danube for All’.

The thematic workshop titled “EUSAIR Master Plan on Energy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region: energy outlook, priorities and prospects” took place in Trieste on 27 November, in conjunction with the 22nd meeting of the Thematic Steering Group on Energy.

The 26th meeting of the Thematic Steering Group for Pillar 4 – Sustainable Tourism (TSG4) under the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR) took place in Zagreb in a hybrid format.
