Izola, 9 April 2026 – The 7th Adriatic Maritime Law Conference (AMLC VII) opened in Izola, Slovenia, reaffirming its status as one of the leading maritime law events in the Adriatic-Ionian region.

On 25 March 2026, the city of Trieste hosted the event titled “Digitalising the Road Last Mile for Ports and Multimodal Freight Terminals: Data Sharing and Interoperability for Efficient Freight Flows.”

The 24th meeting of the Thematic Steering Group for Pillar 3 – Environmental Quality (TSG 3) of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR) was held on 24 March 2026 in Skopje, North Macedonia, in a hybrid format.

Under the auspices of the Bulgarian Presidency of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region, and in collaboration with the SMART ERA project, an engaging event titled “Bridging Vision and Action: Smart Rural Development That Leaves No Region Behind” took place in Sofia, Bulgaria, on 24 March 2026.

On March 19, delegates from North Macedonia, Albania, and Greece—along with the European Commission, UNDP, PONT, and EUSAIR Pillar Coordinators—convened to reaffirm their dedication to the Ohrid-Prespa region.

The 26th meeting of the Governing Board of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR) was held on 4–5 March in Ohrid, North Macedonia. The event brought together representatives from ten participating countries, along with delegates from DG REGIO, DG MARE, Thematic Pillar Coordinators, and experts from various sectors.

From 15 to 17 March, the Danube Youth Council (DYC) gathered in Sofia, Bulgaria for three dynamic days focused on learning, dialogue, and collaboration. The camp went beyond formal meetings, offering participants an opportunity to connect, reflect on shared ambitions, and develop ideas to strengthen youth engagement in macro-regional cooperation across the Danube Region.

The Presidency of North Macedonia for the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR) is pleased to announce that the 11th EUSAIR Forum will be held on 19–20 May 2026 at the Holiday Inn Hotel Skopje (Filip Vtori Makedonski 5). Side events and a ministerial dinner are planned for 18 May 2026.

Priority Area Coordinators (PACs) of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR) met in Sofia for a two-day working session held on 24–25 February. The meeting was organised under the Bulgarian Presidency of the EUSDR.

The Public Agency for the Promotion of Entrepreneurship and Development Projects of the Municipality of Izola (Public Agency JZP Izola), acting as the Implementing Structure of the Municipality of Izola and a project partner in the EUSAIR Facility Point, took part in the International Large Carnivores Habitat Management Conference organised within the framework of the 4PETHABECO project. The conference took place in Tirana, Albania, from 25 to 27 February 2026.
