Important Discussions on the EUSAIR Transport Master Plan at TSG2 Meeting

At the Thematic Steering Group 2 (TSG2) meeting held on February 25, important decisions were made regarding the EUSAIR Transport Master Plan, following discussions raised at the Governing Board meeting. These deliberations focused on decisions to be made collectively by representatives from all participating countries within the EUSAIR framework.

The Transport Master Plan plays a crucial role in enhancing connectivity by integrating various transport networks, including maritime, river, road, rail, and airport infrastructure. It emphasizes sustainable accessibility and the integration of urban hubs and tourist destinations. Through the development of transport infrastructure, the plan aims to promote regional collaboration, stimulate economic growth, and strengthen stability among the participating nations.

During the meeting, the Technical Assistance team presented both the methodology and activities related to updating the EUSAIR Transport Master Plan. It was highlighted that the active participation of all Standing Members is essential to gather the necessary data and information required for updating the plan.

The group also discussed key strategic studies and projects within TSG2, particularly the support and coordination needed for Strategic Project 3, known as "SP4EUSAIR." Co-funded by the Interreg IPA ADRION Programme 2021-2027, SP4EUSAIR's main goal is to enhance the strategic implementation of the Master Plan. The project aims to create a high-quality organizational and methodological framework to identify and select key strategic ideas, building on existing EUSAIR flagships.

At the 10th EUSAIR Forum, set to take place in Georgiupolis, Crete, on May 6–7, 2025, TSG2 will organize a thematic session on transport, entitled "Connectivity as a Vital Tool for Tourism Development," which has been proposed by the Hellenic Presidency.
