Under the theme “Empowering Youth for a Brighter Adriatic-Ionian Future: Introducing the EUSAIR Youth Council,” the first-ever networking session of the EUSAIR Youth Council will be held on the second day of the 10th EUSAIR Annual Forum, taking place in Georgioupolis on May 6–7. This inaugural event will spotlight the major challenges and opportunities facing young people in the Adriatic-Ionian region, emphasizing the Youth Council’s potential role in supporting youth development and engagement.
The region continues to grapple with a mix of complex identities, economic struggles, and social issues—all of which contribute to the persistent outflow of young people seeking better prospects abroad. This brain drain has placed a significant strain on local economies and communities.
Panelists during the session will delve into pressing issues such as access to education and employment, while also exploring new possibilities in areas like entrepreneurship.
At the heart of the Youth Council initiative is the aim to boost youth involvement in regional development and decision-making. The forum will showcase how young people's participation in various projects and governance processes can help build a more inclusive, sustainable, and prosperous Adriatic-Ionian future. The discussion will specifically focus on how EUSAIR can actively empower youth to tackle these ongoing challenges.
Following the panel, representatives of youth-led projects, organizations, and initiatives across the region will have the chance to connect and expand their impact through networking opportunities with Youth Council members, forum attendees, and key stakeholders.
