
The EUSDR Priority Area Coordinators (PAC) Meeting, held in Sarajevo on February 26–27, 2025, brought together key representatives from the Danube Region to address the current challenges and future pathways of the Danube Region Strategy (EUSDR). Hosted under the Bosnian and Herzegovinian EUSDR Presidency, the event marked a significant step in strengthening collaboration and dialogue among the involved countries.
Representatives from DG REGIO and the Danube Region Programme also participated in the two-day gathering, providing a valuable platform for attendees to exchange insights and ideas on enhancing cooperation, supporting sustainable growth, and improving connectivity throughout the Danube Region.
The meeting's agenda featured several important discussions, including:
- Presentation of the Bosnian and Herzegovinian EUSDR Presidency Program and main priorities for 2025;
- Updates from the European Commission on the future of macro-regional strategies and cohesion policy;
- Strengthening cooperation across priority areas and boosting the role of the Danube Strategy Point;
- Identifying funding opportunities through the Interreg Danube Region Programme.
A key focus of the meeting was engaging in productive discussions on improving the governance of the EUSDR to ensure more effective implementation of the Danube Region Strategy.
The EUSDR Presidency expressed gratitude for the participants' invaluable contributions and their ongoing commitment to fostering sustainable and inclusive development in the Danube Region.
