Dialogue with the Presidency: Priorities and Key Cooperation Areas for Stakeholders

The Bulgarian Presidency organised an online edition of the “Chat with the Presidency” initiative, creating an open space for discussion and exchange with stakeholders of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR).

During the meeting, the Bulgarian Presidency presented its priorities for 2026, which include narrowing regional disparities and strengthening connectivity through cooperation, alongside an overview of forthcoming activities. Connectivity was highlighted as a key driver of cohesion and competitiveness, while continued collaboration with candidate countries was reaffirmed as a central objective of the Strategy.
The schedule of upcoming events features a conference on regional development and innovation planned for June, as well as the 15th EUSDR Annual Forum, focusing on regional cooperation, set to take place in November.

Participants expressed their willingness to support and engage with the Bulgarian Presidency’s programme and showed strong interest in taking part in the planned events. Discussions during the Chat also addressed ways to better align ongoing initiatives in areas such as local development, culture and tourism. Particular attention was given to the importance of stakeholder involvement, alongside the need for clearer and more effective communication in future actions.
