Cities across Europe are increasingly confronted with complex issues, ranging from climate adaptation and the energy transition to housing, social inclusion, and sustainable mobility.
A new call for proposals has been launched under the European Urban Initiative – Innovative Actions, inviting cities to develop and test bold, creative, and transferable solutions tailored to their local needs.
This call offers EU funding for projects that:
- Tackle urgent urban challenges
- Produce knowledge and solutions that can be replicated across Europe
- Promote integrated and participatory models of urban development
Through this initiative, the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy continues to position cities as hubs of innovation—supporting them in designing, testing, and scaling solutions that foster sustainable and resilient urban environments.
Proposals can be submitted until 15 June 2026.
